Default Fluid Everywhere!!!

So I took the G out for a run to the gas station after a week of sitting in the garage. Get back home and noticed redish fluid spray all over the rear of the car, slight burnin smell. There is a serious leak from the top of the transmission/differential area. It's dripping all down the rear differential and diffuser onto the ground. WOW!! Any ideas?

Unless you're capable of doing your own repairs, have it towed to a shop.

Red would be hydraulic fluid of some kind... Or is the coolant also red on the G?

Is it more watery or oily?

It's hydraulic of some type, no odor. Very light oily feel to it. I know it's not coolant. I have seen that before, my gut feeling is E-gear fluid just based on location of the leak.(top right side of the tranny) I will keep you posted..

According to lambo Mechanic it sounds like an E-Gear hose burst. Apparently there was a TSB about an upgrade to the hoses etc. I have an 06 G and I have had it 3 years. I was not aware of the fix.

At least it's an easy one...

Was it still driving/shifting after or did you tow it immediately?. maybe it was just a crack and not a fully "burst" hose. Still enough pressure to get you home.

Can I just say I love my manual?

I got home and noticed the burning smell from the fluid on the cats. Then I saw it dripping all over the floor. I will have it towed to the shop tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
