Default Engine Check Light is on with 6-10???

I am on the road driving my G car and I am out of town.

Between the Tech and speed odometers there is an engine light on with a 6-10 next to it.

Is that a code for something or is it a date that the service people forgot to reset? I had the car serviced on 6/2010 before that it was serviced 6/9/2009.

Anyone shed some light on this problem?

OK the Owner's Handbook 2006, page 40, states the check engine light is an "EOBD engine bank 6-10 malfunction"

There's much discussion about this issue here: EOBD engine bank 1-5 and 6-10 malfunction

Mine came on this week with same code. I have constantly open exhaust on my '07 and it went out after 3 start ups. Obviously there are other causes for it to display but if car running ok then give it a few more starts to see if it resolves.

I am running Tubi exhaust on my G, it has came on in the last three years probably 5-10 times. Had it initially checked by Lambo Washington when i was in the states, the 1-5 or 6-10 check engine light comes on because of the Tubi exhaust in my case. You will see it will go away after a drive or so, and you will see no engine difference if it is the same problem causing your light to come on, just get Lambo to run the code to see what it is, good luck! Yep, I was starting to "PANIC".

Checked into the hotel room last night, posted my thread, read the Owner's Handbook and started a Forum search and found others have had the same problem.

That enabled me to get a good night's sleep!

Thanks guys,

Pete

Yeap same thing happened to me to yesterday. Check engine light 1-5. Did my research and found out that condensation collects in the mis-fire tubes.

Well I got up this morning and started the car, drove it about 70 miles and so far the engine light did not come on. hope it stays off for a while!

If you shut the car off and start it 5 times it go's away, but it dones not solve the issue.

i believe 6-10 is referring to that half of the engine's cylinders. i previously had a 1-5 and had to do with condensation in missfire tubes & exhaust sensor...seems like lots of us had it so somewhat of a common problem....though my light never went off like yours & others; just stayed on until serviced to fix...see previous posts/threads on the issue.
