Default E-gear won't select a gear

My friends 06 Gallardo Spyder doesn't want to select a gear. If you use the paddle to put it in 1st it goes back to neutral and the 'r' for reverse flashes. I held the right hand paddle in and all 6 gears started flashing and it finally went into first and drove normally.

When we got home we restarted it, it was the same, wouldn't select a gear.

Any ideas?

You need to check the fluid level.

Then you need to check to see if the E-gear pump primes when you open the door(on the passenger side).

I had this happen a few times on my 2004. I replaced the eGear pump, accumulator and relays with no further incidents since.
