Red face Considering a High Mileage Gallardo (noob advice)

I'm considering the purchase of a 2006 Gallardo coupe with a little more than 20K miles. It's coming from our local dealer but any advice would be great in terms of what I should be looking for in terms of price and possible mechanical issues at that mileage? The previous owner installed new pipes...not sure if this informs anything about the previous owner or wear/tear.

Any advice would be fantastic

lol...That's not high mileage!

Get a PPI, check the clutch (if E-gear), and have at it.

The Lambo V10 engine is about as bullet proof as you can get. Some owners are approaching 100k in their cars, so 20k is nothing to worry about, so long as the car passes its ppi. If there's little life left in the clutch, that should be a bargaining chip.

The V10 does not start "coming in" until 30K miles so your getting a car not yet in its prime.

+1

I just turned 21,000 on my '06 SE. It doesn't look or feel 'high-miles', especially if taken care of (which most Lamborghini owners are going to do).

I truly believe that my lack of 'issues' with the car is, in part, due to the fact that I drive it regularly and put it through it's paces.

I don't think I would want a car that wasn't driven at least 1500-3000 miles a year, especially the older the car.

Brian,
I love Arancio Borealis...probably my favorite color in Lambo. I need to trade in my Maserati before Georgia changes their trade-in sales tax law in March. But from your initial post, it sounds like you are looking to get out of the car scene and probably wouldn't be interested in a trade + cash deal.

Dave,

You're right only thing I would consider trade for is a Bentley CGT + cash. You can always sell the Maserati privately and then pick up my G.
