There have been many previous posts/threads on this topic. The Canadian cars have different specifications to meet Transport Canada's requirements and therefore the U.S. cars cannot be brought into the country unless they are at least 15 years old.

That statement is not true when refuring to the Gallardo. The US Gallardo and the Canadian Gallardo are identical other than daytime running lights.
This topic has been beat to death... we all know the "real" reason.

if you want to import a car to canada, i would talk to superior auto sales in hamburg N.Y. They also have a dealer in canada Fournier auto sales, and they bring cars back and forth all the time.

You cannot import a Lambo into Canada period, unless it is 15 years old or more.

The real reason for this is the Canadian Lambo dealers have complained to Lamborghini about us Canucks importing cars from the U.S. and cutting into there domestic sales. Lets face it, why not cross border shop when you can save so much $$$. Therefore Lamborghini have not applied to Canadian Customs to get their name on the list of vehicles admissable from the U.S. If the dealers in Canada would just get on par or even close to the real prices then they would never have to worry about us shopping elsewhere, instead they choose to gouge us Canucks and wonder why they aren't selling more cars.

I have gone over this a thousand ways til sunday and it's just not possible, which is really too bad because in Canada we will pay approx $40,000 more for the same car in the U.S.

Unfortunately, because of this I may end up buying a Ferrari instead because they can be imported into Canada from the U.S.

Sometimes it just sucks to be Canadian but most of the time it's a good thing
