Default Brake Light Bulb Replacement

Yesterday the right brake light bulb warning showed up. This morning, I did a few searches here and read the DIY link on LamboWeb. Thought it would be a 30 minute job max. After that, I head over to AutoZone and bought a pack of 7528LL light bulb for $5.99. First step is to remove the honeycomb grill under by tail light assembly. Note: there are 4 screws not just 2. Then I removed the 2 screws on the tail lights and that was when I realized that right side of the car is actually the passenger side and not the driver side. I am an idiot. So I put the honeycomb grill back and then repeat the same step on the passenger side tail light. After I removed the two screws on the tail light, I realized that there is simply nothing more I can do to remove the tail light assembly. The entire bottom part of the tail light assembly is covered by the aluminum heat shield which leaves about at best 3 to 4 inches of opening for me to stick my hand in to remove the brake light bulb. I tried all different angles to stick my hand in without luck. I didn't want to exert too much force worrying that I may break plastic parts or hidden connections with the tail light assembly. After almost an hour (yes literally an hour, I managed to get enough of my hand in to remove and replace the bulb. WTF!

Two conclusions:

1) The DIY guide on Lamboweb is for 04 gallardo (Mine is a 06) and the entire thing is enclosed by the aluminum heat shield if you have more recent models.

2) Italian people either have no fingers or midget hands.

Remove wheel, Remove rear wheel fender liner. Two bolts up top (I think they are 10mm), remove them, and the light pops right out...

Exactly had to take mine out this weekend to fix the tabs that broke on the back side not sure how maybe someone leaned on the car too hard. I glued them back together hope holds.

Sadly I'm going to have to bring mine in to the shop for this. But the warning seems to indicate both lights are out. I'm going to check it tonight (2300 when it finally gets dark in this crazy country). I'm not convinced its a bulb if they went out simultaneously. And on the hottest day of the year thus far. Makes me suspicious.

I never had a light bulb go out on the G since I owned it. Then one day left brake light, next day right brake light, then the next day the left parking light, then the next day (you guessed it) right parking light!

yeah I guess. Just strange that I'd come back to my car and get the warning, drive a little down the road and apply the brake and get the other warning.

And being a really hot day (for once), though I don't know how that'd really apply. And there were much hotter in Cali before coming here.

So just to confirm the 7528LL light bulb is the correct one for the brake lights?
