I run the wires directly to the connectors on the battery. The bolts that tighten the connectors around the battery posts had some extra length and so I slid on some crimp connectors (crimped to my wire of course), followed by lock washers and nuts.
I didn't want to have a squashed wire routed through a watertight seal on the door, window or bonnet so I ran it to the hole in the right front grill where there is a removable plastic cover for the tow bar. There is still plenty of room for the bar and I've attached the cable to the cover itself in a way that keeps it hidden until you pop it off. Complicated? Maybe, but it's perfectly hidden, accessible from outside the vehicle and has a direct connection to the battery. Perfecto! And, my mechanic was impressed. |

How old is the battery? What about replacing it with a new battery? besides the fact that once a battery died once, it will tend to loose charge again easier. If your battery is old, you might as well replace it so you don't have to worry about how to charge it back this time.
