The handbrake on my 2006 Gallardo was not efficient at holding the car even on a very slight gradient.
In consequence I adjusted it as per the advice on Lamboweb. Worked a treat after that until today, when for no reason when I applied the handbrake it went almost vertical and gave almost no braking effect. I took the cover off the adjustment area again to find that the drivers side handbrake cable is coming forward more than the passenger side. Tried to adjust it up furthur , to no avail. Neither cable has snapped, and the all the pads had been replaced prior to my buying the car on 7th January. Does anyone have a schematic drawing of the handbrake system showing how the cables are routed from the lever assembly back through to the caliper assembly ? Are there pivot points where the cable could have become detached for the car body ? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Spoke to the local dealer and he actually recomended to realease the tension on the wires a litle bit.. This isue might acure if the wire is tighten to much. By all means the self adjusting system might fail.. (autocura sweeden We dont have a lambo dealer in Norway)
Not yet tested please share youre experiense info

Uhm. There is no auto-tightening system?
The cables go straight from the handbrake to the rear calipers. They're quite easily visible under the car. Trace back from the small caliper if you need too. You said pads were changed. The normal brake pads or the ones for the handbrake?
