Default 04 & 05 Gallardo versus 06 and later

Info please:
I own an E-gear `04 Gallardo, the 1425th. car built. It had 6800 miles on it whan I bought it (and a new clutch), and have since put about 1500 miles on it. I love it. I don't mind the rough ride as much as the drumming noise and thumping when you hit bumps. I don't beat it by any means, but I always drive in "Sport" mode and the automatic downshifting when you come to a stop is lurchy. Also, in slow turns -- not even full against the stop -- the damn thing grinds, bumps and ocillates like the entire drive train is about to fall out. It is decidedly unrefined. I'm told all 04's and 05's are like that, and that the `06 and later is a different car and truly representative of how good and reliable the Gallardo really is. Have any of you out there owned an `04 or `05, then an `06 or later, who can tell me how much the car was improved? I'd sure appreciate any input, as I'm thinking of trading up to an `06. Thanks.
