Default New Gallardo, Murci Roadster, or LP-640?

Spent some time at the dealer the other day. Drove a 550-2 spider for the 2nd time. They are talking about $203k for a 2012 new one.

Now in that same price range, I could have a 1st gen Murci roadster, or an early LP-640 coupe. Have never driven a Murci.

What are your thoughts on these options?

Also, does anyone know if the e-gear in the non-LP Murci is the same/better than the 2006-2008 Gallardos?

I'm curious. What are they talking for a new 2012 550-2 coupe? And who's the dealer?

The discount they throw out there is $25k.......Lambo of Houston, really good to work with. Ask for Phillipe.

You need to drive them both and see what you prefer. If you want a car that is easier to drive everywhere (Porsche, Gallardo, Ferrari etc..) with a warranty, go for the G. The Murcielago is a completely different drive to anything on the road. That being said, every drive in the Murci is an event. As far as 6.2 or LP Murci.... given two in the same shape, maintenance, etc.... I say always go for the newest car your budget can afford. Just my $0.02.... I've had a Gallardo, loved it, and I have an 06 Roadster... also love it...but two completely different cars

I'd vote for the LP640 Roadster. As someone said earlier, the Gallardo and the Murcielago are two completely different experiences. The G is a very drivable car, even a daily driver, just with a lot of punch. The M is an heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline rushing event EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE CAR ON. I know there are folks that drive it as a DD, but I couldn't handle all that attention, pictures, cars following me and honking at me, every time I got in the car. And you will get that every where, every time the car is seen on the road. That being said, as my none DD car, I love the M. I still get excited each time I open the scissor doors and get in the car...it's just that evocative. Good luck with your decision.

Someone bumped one of my old posts. Since then I've ruled out the Gallardo and substituted Diablo roadsters.

I'm probably leaning towards the Diablo in large part because it has a serviceable top. After speaking with someone with a 640 roadster, he told me it takes 15-20 minutes and 2 people to put the toupee on. I think I need a little more practicality than that.
