No trick I know of just go slow at first. Of course this gives more time for people to oogle at your car and for you to answer all those fascinating questions like what do you do?, How fast?, How much $$ etc.

Carefull with the twisting and turning, got mine stuck in there once and took a while to get it out. This you don't want people to ask you about.

Try holding the handle upside down or try a different pump. I've learnt which ones in my area work the best.

hold the filler nozzle thing with one hand and pump with the other (the thing that makes the seal on the tank!)

I had a 99 Diablo with the same issue...some pumps would let me fill it when the nozzle was upside down, others wanted it sideways...either way, it won't let you lock it on high and walk away...you'll be standing there, hunched over, holding the lever on the slowest possible setting, watching the fuel being dispersed one droplet at a time...if you get lucky, it might let you fill it at the rate of a turtle in a high speed chase...the one downside to the Diablo...especially when it's freezing cold outside...
