Thumbs up Pre-99 Diablo HID Xenon Lights Upgrade Done! Best mod ever!

Per Roberto's tips, I went ahead with the mod so that I can see at night.

It does take some labor to get this done as the front wheels need to be removed to install the HID ballast. Wheel well covers were a bitch to remove.

I had Frank at Raging Bull Performance do the work. Highly recommended if you are in SoCal.

Difference between old (left) and new (right):

I can see!

looks great. congrats on the upgrade. even though i doubt many of us drive at night you just don't know sometimes. it's worth the upgrade so you don't end up running over something.

it is a bitch to get wheel liner off indeed. i tried and gave up.

another diablo owner won't drive at night due to the extremely weak headlights.

And you are right, we had a drive last week and hung out till sunset. I had to have my Performante buddy 'light up' the road on the way home.

p.s. I would never had been able to get the wheel liner out myself either - after seeing how much effort/work is needed.

What power rating did you use ? Normally, the 55W halogen need 35W Xenon for replacement with light output within the law. Xenon has thus a higher efficiency, but you can do 2 more things to enhance the vision :

1. use 55W Xenon instead of 35W
2. use a colour temperature below or equal to 4500K

Point 1: the heat development is about the same as the old Halogen bulb, but you possibly don't comply with the law.

Point 2: the human eye is simply more sensitive for the warmer whites. So although the blue/purple extreme high K xenon are popular, measurements show that the lower K Xenons gives the best vision for the driver.

Awesome buddy, looks fantastic

I never had that much of an issue on install, we might have done it differently, but achieved same results .

PS if you Talk to Frank at RB remind him to send my spare key for God Sake lol

without the HID ballast, it would be easy without removing the wheel well; but wanted to go all out. I will tell Frank today about the keys. I think I saw it on his desk the last time I was there..lol.
