I found this:

If the clutch system is not releasing, the following inspections should be made. If the release system is hydraulic, inspect the master cylinder reservoir fluid level. If it is dry, inspect the master cylinder and the slave cylinder for fluid leaks. If no leaks are found then refill reservoir and examine again after driving the vehicle a short distance. You should also inspect the transmission mounts and motor mounts to be sure they have not broken. Broken mounts can misalign the engine and transmission and prevent the release of the clutch disc. Replace these if necessary. Also, if the vehicle has recently been involved in a collision and clutch release problems occurred after that event, it is possible that the frame is damaged and is causing a misalignment of the engine and transmission. If a clutch release cable operates the system, attempt to adjust the cable so that the bearing is moved closer to the cover assembly. If there is no additional adjustment on the cable, it is possible that the cable has stretched. Replace the cable and test before removing the clutch. It is recommended to replace the cable with every clutch system replacement.

Thumbs up

Well, tonight things became a little clearer:
With the car started, the gear shifter in neutral, the clutch pedal became stuck down (it has about 3 times before), I popped it up with my toes, it then became very easy to push down, then exceedingly difficult to push down, and now it is kind of easy to push down and there is NO movement at the slave cylinder.
I'll see if I can get a replacement slave cylinder tomorrow and try to do the repair a day before it's scheduled to go to the dealer.
I *really* hope I can get it driving before this weekend, which is the Canadian Thanksgiving day long weekend.
Thanks for all your help folks!

You have air in the system or the slave piston is jammed.

So I finally got the car to ** Canada (the authorized Lamborghini Dealer)

A day later, they told me that something's wrong inside the transaxle; that something like a bearing, or fork release (I can't remember) is not disengaging.

So, it's 26 hours to take out the engine and put it back. Once it's out, they can tell me everything that needs to get done. He suggested that now would be the time to get the valves adjusted.

The mechanic's gone to Boston for training for a week, so looks like I'll have to wait a couple of weeks. I'm going to get this car back in the dead of winter!
Anyone have suggestions about what work I should get done with the engine and transaxle out? Also, if the clutch needs replacing, is it okay to go with the Ferrarri equivalent (the 350?), or is there a better aftermarket brand/type?

Thanks.

26 hours...i still think that is a bunch of bull...no pun intended. My first time took less than 6-7 hours and could do it again in less than 4 hours.

Oh well that's a dealer for ya. I bet ya it's a throw out bearing. Take a look at this link, it will explain how the clutch works.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/clutch.htm

While it's out I would get the clutch done, clean up the engine if possible, replace seals..may want to check if the pinion gear is the upgraded one...if it's not I would expect it to break at some given moment.

Last year I had looked at a 328 that Donald Hoplock (Meridian Yachts)
had for sale. At that time he had indicated he was going to be opening a high end sales and repair facility in Vancouver. Apparently, he had a similar shop back in the 80's in Calgary. I don't know if the shop ever got off the ground, but it wouldn't hurt to check it out.
Good luck , I hope you get it back quickly.

I would suggest that you first determine how much you want to spend. Then get it out of a Lamborghini dealer. They will charge you double. I would send it to who you feel comfortable with that has an honest reputation. I did my work at Evans, but they are in Ohio. You may want Roy Cats to take a look. Whoever does it, if the engine is coming out, this is the time to make modifications. At this point it really depends on how much you want to invest in the car. A full engine overhaul will cost over $25,000+ (depending on what parts you need) If you go this route, do a search of this site. It will give you what upgrades you need to do! Tensioners, electrical, exhaust, etc.

Good Luck!

I just looked at the ad again from the guys you bought your car from. It says "full service including engine out. " I would be talking to them about this as this could be a total lie. I didn't like those guys and chose not to buy the car, especially after some other board members went to look at it.
I would be getting them to prove that service. Could save you an awful lot of money.
