I got my (new for me) 1991 Diablo today. I drove it around all day. My forearms hurt, especially my right, my left foot hurts (driving barefoot and in socks), so does my left calf -- but especially my face from grinning all day! A dream come true. Thanks for the info about the battery placement and the gear arrangement! I'll try to upload some pictures next:

Very cool! I remember my left leg being sore and couldn't see over the dash pod until Frank came to the rescue...with a modded pod that I could see over. I have one if you want it.
1991-93's have their qwerks about them, but as I have learned...don't let it scare ya. It did me at first, but once I got over the fact it's a Lamborghini....everything wasn't that bad to work on. I am pretty mechanically inclined but also want reliabilty so I decided I will do about 90% of all the work on my own car...plus my wallet has limits. If it wasn't for that, I would have bought something else. This board is full of great information and encourage you to share your experiences like I am so others can benefit from it. PICTURES of anything you do is #1 in my book! Awesome car and congrats! I bet you feel like a kid again!

Thanks guys.
The interior is black. I live in British Columbia, Canada. Sad story today: the clutch won't disengage, I had to get it towed, and now it's sitting in my garage waiting for an appointment with Weissach in Vancouver for NEXT Thursday (8 days away). I'm *not* mechanically inclined, but I think something is wrong with the linkage. What do you guys think: With the engine off, the gear shifter shifts into all gears. With the engine on, I can't shift out of neutral. The car rolls with the engine off and the shifter in neutral. The car turns but won't start with the shifter in gear and the clutch disengaged (pushed down all the way). I don't have a manual and don't even know if the clutch is hydraulic. Is it? If so, where's the resevoir? I was stalled on a sloping carpark of a gas station and it took an hour to load the car onto a flat bed truck for towing (very little clearance). Finally, anyone in Vancouver recommend a shop for the car. Is Weissach good? |

Sorry about the bad news, these cars often require a little sorting out once you first get them
I cant remember if your car has a cable connection or hydraulic.. Adam? First things first, get the car in the air and get under it to see if the clutch arm is moving with the clutch pedal. What does the clutch pedal feel like? Lighter, stiffer than normal? If the arm isnt moving, you have a linkage problem, which isnt bad. If the arm is moving, chances are that the clutch lining has seperated or something else is wrong with the clutch. If this turns out to be the case, I can help steer you in the right direction for a clutch... Last edited by andrew8896 : 09-27-2006 at 02:27 PM. |
