I don't know the law in the US, but in France we had a case like this.
A guy riding at 300 km/h on a 110 limit road, filming with a GoPro (with a modified Audi RS4 if I remember correctly). The police were able to build a case and prove who the driver was, what car he was driving, when the footage was taken etc. Guy ended up in jail...
I guess they only do that for very big numbers.
I used to upload a lot of GoPro videos of my GT3 but now I put them in private on Youtube. Or I post whatever was filmed in another country (Italy, Germany...).
