Default Need help with my 98 SV (Monterey Edition) Newbie questions

Just picked up my 98 SV this weekend and I have a few questions.

Power seems a little low. Where is the torque? Steve at Al Burtoni's did the PPI and some of the valves are about 10-20% off. One Valve was 40% off but they thought it could be dirty. (Steve and Greg are great guys, very knowledgeable on Diablo’s)

My front shock is leaking, where is the power steering located so I can fill it. I don't see it.

How much power will I gain from a major service and exhaust? Steve mentioned that this will really wake things up.

Blind spot on right is really bad.

Lastly, where do you rest your left leg? I have been driving the car with my left leg under the clutch (you guys who have the car know what I mean)

Thank you,

CQ

Hello: I have an SV also. The V12 in these cars do not produce large amount of torque. They were designed more for speed than to be a dragster. I think the torque rating on my 99 is 445lbs@5500RPM. Compare that to my 04 MB SL600 which has 590lbs/ft@1800. The SL will blow the doors off the Lambo and the SL weighs 4300lbs compared to 3373 for the Lambo.
To get the Lambo moving you must have the revs up around 4000RPM. You will find the car "lacking" below that in any gear other than 1st. Before you go and spend $KKKK, check to see if the plugs have been changed in the last 3000 miles. If not have them changed and at that time they will rebalance the intake manifolds and check your F.I. system. Also be sure your air filters are clean as dirty filters will restrict airflow.
Sometime first time buyers will expect more from the car than is there. I do not know if you are a first time Lambo buyer but with concerns about the clutch life many owners do not due full blown acceleration runs with these cars. There are plenty of other cars that are more suited to that. I had many of them including two Vipers. However the overall Lambo experiance is satisfying enough for me even with the realtive lower torque numbers.

The Power Steering Bottle is in the Right Rear, behind the Panel, simply (and carefilly if it's your first time) remove the lower Strut Mount and a coiple quick nuts and the Panel Slides out, you'll see the Big Black PS Can.

Then like Speed2 reccomends change the plugs, check the plug wires for resistance, clean the inside of the cap AND.....LOOOOOKKK Very carefully for AIR LEAKS in all he Vacum Hoses, "especially the small ones" (this is so common, you wouldn't believe it)!

Does the car have any service records?

Default thanks for the info

I will have the major and the exhaust done at the same time. The car is slow compared to my sl55, but it looks so pretty Yes this is my first exotic car. I wish I could find the right seating position. I am use to 8way seats.

I believe the car has the original spark plugs. Can I change them or do I need special tools and the computer to make the engine happy.

I am going to have the work done at Milano. I don't mind spending a little extra for experience.

My experience is different than speed2. My car eats it up in every gear, no problem with torque. I get my car rolling by engaging the clutch at idle, and then let it rip, this is about as easy as you can be on the clutch.

Don't loose the exotic experience, sitting a little crooked with no place to rest a limb is normal. Pure comfort is not to be desired.

I live in the Bay Area here in California. The car has 8k miles. The Minor has not been done, only oil changes and warranty work. The Car is a little sick and needs some TLC.
