Hello,
Does somebody has some more information about what info is available on the OBD connector in real-time ? I have seen the page on Lamboweb, is that all there is ? What about the speed-signal? is that also shared over OBD, or does the tacho signal only directly feed the VDO-Speed gauge ? I am figuring out how to integrate a mini-mac as a carputer with a touchscreen, for this the CF-dash must be modified as the ventilation is in the way, it also will monitor all individual tire-pressures every few seconds etc. If the speed signal is integrated in the OBD information, together with some other parameters, the estimated miles left for example could be calculated and displayed. I thought at least the TPMS upgrade on all 4 tires with a real PSI/BAR readout instead of only the warning light is a nice and safe option. I noticed my pressure sensors were removed anyway by the former owner (is the original Lamborghini pressure warning system reliable?) , thats why I started thinking about the TPMS / mini-mac integration. As I want also to take my 50GB music with me, possibilities are endless. Even an airbag-triggered camera recording is possible, as my D will have 2 permanent cameras on it. Maybe a flash memory cam would be better there, dont know yet. ok, if somebody knows more about the OBD in the D, I am interested. Last edited by Yuroon3; 09-12-2011 at 05:34 PM. |

Hello Gvan, thanks for your reply. What is VSS ? velocity speed sensor ? About the OBD information, I have seen somewhere on the net that OBDII also has the speed integrated into it. But you may or will be right that it is not the case with the 99 Diablo. But I think for sure it is nice to see that the OBD readings after some failure shos everything is ok, instead of still having the engine warning lights on. It never happened to me but I have read that the LIE must relearn all OBD info, and only after many restarts or resetting the system, these warning should go away. If it would occur to me and I can see the graphical representation of all engine OBD signals, it would be much more relaxing as I could see everything is all ok. While all other driver still see the engine warninglight light up. Like I said, I got this idea looking for only a more advanced TPMS system, but since the OBDII data is available, why not having the possibility to observe that too with a single finger touch on the screen ?

I have a Bluetooth version of a OBDKey - just tested it for the first time today with my 99 D Roadster - streaming of real time OBD data to my Android phone worked ok. Will check what data types were displayed and get back.

This is the live OBD data that I got through the Torque app for Android (using the Bluetooth OBDKey): Load, coolant temp, intake pressure, revs, speed, intake temp, timing advance (in degrees), throttle %, trip and some (not OBD based?) acceleration data.
Through the OBDKey specific Android app I got the following: Fuel system (abs), calculated load, short term fuel trim 1 &2, long term fuel trim 1&2, intake pressure. I havenīt yet tried the PC software for OBDKey, I would assume that it would give access to the most comprehensive set of data. |

I will check what is available through the PC software.

I have now played around with the PC software for OBDKey - the only additional live data available is indeed O2 sensor info (four data types; two sensors per each of the two banks). Fuel/air ratio does not seem to be available... Otherwise, all the same data types are available as with the Android apps mentioned above. The PC software has a lot of diagnostic functions available, though.
