I am looking at several Diablos one of which is a 1991.
I have heard that most cars had the hydraulic cam chain tightener replaced by a manual one as the chain sometimes was overtightened and snapped casuing huge damage. I am not a mechanic and wouldnt know what to look for but is it easy for a mechnaic to spot whether this has been done or is it a case of opening up the engine/internals of the car to see if it has been replaced? I also heard tthat UK RHD cars were not affected/ had manual tensioner from the start?? I have also heard that the primary drive shaft fails on early cars and that rusting can be an issue Should I just avoid 1991 Diablos like the plague and buy a later one to avoid horror bills? Thank you in advance |

The early Diablos are not bad cars. Driven like they are an NSX they will be expensive to keep right, but driven with car and passion and they are very rewarding.
Know of any LHD? PM me.
