Default New Countach Owner!!!

Hey guys I'm the new owner of an 1989 25th Countach. She is white with black interiour. I started to make my 7 hour drive home yesterday but the alternator went 50K into the drive, so back to the shop I go. I picked her up today and had a great drive, I tryed to start my car after dinner to go wash it and she wouldn't turn over! The fans would kick in but nothing from the motor, so it must be the starter. I'm going to take it down to my mechanic tomorrow so he can look at it. What do you guys think is wrong and how would I fix it? I will post some pictures in the next couple of days so u can see my LM and Countach together.

Most of the cases it's the starter, but try to measure voltage on the wires to the starter, there is a heat problem in that location. The starter relais is located in the rear trunk's relais box at the left side.

If you have to remove the starter to overhoul, this is a 8 hours job, you have to remove the headers...

You don't need to replace the starter, bring it to a Bosch service and they will overhoul it, or you throw it out and replace it with a smaller one.
Chad Bolles is developping one which is half the size and weight...

Thanks guys, It started up today no problem so I took it down to get the Vechicle Inspection done and they are going to look at the starter for me. But it has started ever single time, hopfully they find out what is wrong. It's kind of embarrising not being able to start your car after you fill it up with gas at a gas station!!

Normally the starter stucks only when the engine is hot...
Could be the wires (more resistent when hot) or the Selonoid, therefore I wrote check the wires first, then think of replacing/overhouling the starter...

Congrats on your car. I thought seriously about buying that one. Looks great in white. Drives very strongly. Zahir is no b.s either so you know you got a good one.

Thanks Jeff. I am extremely happy with this car!! I've had a few bugs I have to work out but you are right about it being very strong. The power is just awsome! Zahir is a great guy and he made the buying experience very easy, I look forward to doing buisness with him.

Congratulations !
Is it the one you asked about some weeks ago in another thread ?
Sorry to hear about the few bugs you experienced, but..you know...the very small volumes available here and there in a Countach originaly supposed to be used for luggage (I mean half a soap and an extra pair of socks...)...shall now be used for tools and spares
Anyway, enjoy !

Congrats on the new car, when are we going to see some pics? Both of them.
I have a 88.5 Countach and would like to know what symtoms you had 50k into your return trip about the altenator and what was done for the repair. On mine the voltage gage works most of the time but sometimes it will show way high or way low...I think it's the gage more than the altenator. Is this what happened to you? Was anything found out with the starter problem?
