You are right...first time I saw one was in Paris some 25 years ago ( I was 13)...Too flat, too white, too wide, too noisy, too expensive...I wanted this one, and no other...
Honestly, I kind of have the same feeling with the Murcielago Roadster now...in 25 years from now maybe
