The LP400s had DCOE 40 and other jets, some of them were converted back to LP400 to get more power.

Hello,
By the way...any news about this one? Is it still for sale ? http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/C...S/1121020.html |

I suppose it's sold since some cars of the auction are listed now in the sale section of www.oldtimergalerie.ch.
The price range they anounced was quite low for such an early LP400s.

This car is at Roland Affolter in Porrentruy, one of the 3 official Lambo Dealers in Switzerland www.lamborghini.ch, you can find this car also under www.autoscout.ch
This plastic cannot be removed easily, total nonsense, you have to buy complete new rear wheel arches and the arch tip which are now integrated in the skirt, body panel under the door and so on, costs immediately some k Euros. I think this guy has never seen such a conversion kit with his own eyes... Depends what kind of Countach you want, first you wanted a LP400s now we're heading against a QV, perhaps also a 25th. In Germany are plenty of carbed 25th available www.mobile.de

Hi Raymond,
I am definitively not looking for an Anniversary. I stick to a LP400S or LP500S...QV's seem easier to find, and would of course be fine too (without all the plastic around )..depends of the opportunities I am given.I found out that being too specific about the year, engine, the mods made, color and all might lead me to look for a particular Chassis nr ...so I have...opened up my mind ![]() |

OUps..clicked too fast...
And about the skirt and all on the one we're talking about, that's what I thought..thanks for confirming ![]() By the way..I just sent an enquiry to AutoScout about the new LP400S they offer...But don't tell anyone ...Is Martin Adama a member here ?Last edited by Ayanami : 06-23-2005 at 01:23 AM. |

Hi Eric, after reading your last couple of post I thought I would give you my experience. I have been in love with the Countach as long as I can remember. I began looking for one several years ago and what I really had my heart set on was a downdraft "Euro Spec" QV. The problem became the lack of these models in the U.S meant that they rarely came up for sale, and when they did exchange hands they usually never made it to the market place. Either a freind or acquaintance of the owner usually had first dibs on the car. In Oct of 02 I came across a beautiful 1981 LP400S on eBay. The price was better than alright and the seller was a great guy and a complete Countach nut like myself. So I bought it. It really was a fantastic car so what I write is not meant to disparage the car in anyway, but I was not entirely happy with it. There was always something missing. The problem was that I did not hold out for the car I really wanted. Well lucky for me, two years later the guy I bought my LP400S from now owned a 1986 downdraft LP5000S and he was gracious enough to give me right of first refusal when he sold it. The problem was that I now had to sell my LP400S before I could get the LP5000S. I did not have the garage space nor were my pockets deep enough to afford both. Fortunately the seller and I had become friends so he allowed me to put a down payment and accepted the rest when I sold the '81. If the seller hadn't been the kind of guy that he was and waited for me for several months to pay him for the car I would have lost out again.
The moral of the story is...You should decide if you have your heart set on a particular model, and if you do hold out until you find the right one. You may have to be very patient, but it will pay off in the long run. Good luck in your search. ![]() |
