Default info on 1984 lambo countach

I'm trying to find some info on a 1984 countach. the car according to the lambo registry was the 1983 paris auto show car and was bought by Joe Sackey. any info that anyone has about this car is greatly appreciated, the previous owner i got it from lost all the documention for the car. It was suposedly used in the film "cannonball run" but i'm not sure.

NO, for sure not Canonball. In that movie a LP400s was used.

No not the car as Raymond said Cannonball Run, LP400S. Cannonball Run II Red Countach with a wing and tan interior, in the opening sceens it was painted white only to get hosed down and reveal the red paint. I would however like to know what chassis # of that car was just out of curiousity, does anyone know? Thanks in advance Vic

If your car was owned by Joe Sackey, have you tried to contact him? You might be able to get in touch with him through Gary Bobileff, (858) 622-1600.

Default I rode in Sackey's Countach!!!

David,

I can't believe this! I was searching this forum because I am gearing up to search for an 85 QV Carb Countach to buy when I saw your post.

My parents lived in Palos Verdes, CA. next to Joe Sackey and my sister used to baby sit their kids. He knew I was a car lover and offered to give me a ride in his car. As I recall, the car was pretty rare as Joe described it to me. He bought it in Northern California and actually drove it all the way home to Southern California! It was an off white peralescent and he told me it had won a number of trophys.

He carefully warmed the car up and we drove up Silver Spur road towards to top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. In the first 2 miles of the ride, a souped up 300Z Twin pulled alongside and wanted to race - Joe didn't go for it - he was a very mature owner like that.

I can ask my sister for more info if you want - she would remember the date - it could have been between 95-98 that this happened.

Are you looking to buy or find this car??

Thanks - William

Hmmm, why is Joe not on this forum

The car the thread-creator was talking of is a LP500s, the QV seems the one that we know here if it is a carbed one.

Hey Victor,

I know the Cannonball II Chassis #....the car is in rough shape.

It is a 1982 LP400S, I'll let you know when I find it.

It was for sale about a year ago.

I have the car, purchased it almost 2 years ago. I did talk to Gary about the car. Seems the car was originally red with red interior, but the factory repainted the car pearl white for the 1983 Paris auto show. It was brought to the us, and from what he remembers Joe was the second owner....the person I got the car from bought it in Ohio. But he misplaced all the history and paperwork he got with the car. I would love to talk to Joe about the car, but he seems to be a hard person to get a hold of.
