A DD will increase in value from your buy. A 25th will deppreciate further. But if you intend to put lots of miles then it will not really matter and the 25th would be a better choice for that (at a lesser price).

I don't believe for one second that an anniversary is going to depreciate further. They are the best selling, best driving and to many, the best looking of the model. They too have hit bottom, and are appreciating. There is one of the Rosso Perlatos for sale here in Calgary that is said to be a nice car.
Not sure why some don't like the anniversario but, I have owned a 5000S, driven an injected QV, a DD, and now own a DD Anniversary, and it is by far the best of the lot, and is, in my opinion the most outrageous to look at.

a DD 25th is a powerfull and fast countach, also drives great
i am not a big fan of its design but i would like one
i do not believe they would depreciate

an FI 25th is not as fast and not very interesting as a collector car IMO

Agree with Emilio on this. A DD and Carb Anniversario is a VERY IMPORTANT distinction. Most in the USA don't like the Anniv, b/c of the fat bumpers and rockers, myself included.

Naturally, everybodies opinion is correct and true, when it is just an opinion. The nature of the Countach line is that they are all going to go up in value eventually. What many don't realize, I think, when making a prediction of values and depreciation, is that guys like me -35 years old, grew up with the Countach and more specifically the Anniversary. It was THE car of the time, hense the sales numbers compared to others. Now that people in that age group are becoming more established, I believe they will search out the cars that impacted them way back when. The car I just purchased is a DD Anniversary, which makes my 84 Carbed car look like a toy. Gallardo, Murcie - destined to drop. Countach, not a chance. Not globally anyway, but perhaps because of the U.S economy, all Countach, Miura's and early Diablos may be affected. I doubt it though, because the wealthy are often not nearly as affected in these times.

Jeff, very good point, and I wholeheartedly agree. I NEVER would have thought that a Hemi Cuda convertible would become a Million $ car, for example. I do remember in 5th and 6th grade (I'm just about to turn 29) pouring over the pages of the DuPont Registry, seeing guys like Ooley and Blackburn getting over $400K for '89 CT's. Now ~18 years later, even @ 4% inflation, you would need over $800K just to break even on this "investment" (not including maintenance, insurance, etc). Wonder how long they'd take to get up to that. . . you never know. The problem with predictions is that most are doomed to failure.

agree that hardly any countach would lost value, expecially the carbed ones that are last of the "golden" era

i would say though that, when the anniversary came out, THE car was the F40 and countach lost the 1st place as the child dream car of the moment....

it was THE car for more than 10 years though and it was still a superstar when production ended !!

You really can't go wrong with any year Countach. Living with it might be more like an aquired taste thing, but if it's your passion, like mine, you will really like it. I am a few years older than most of you. The Countach style I grew up wanting was the 5000S style, like Cannonball, so I gravitate to the no rockers style. Money (values) aside, and this is JUST my opinion, the style that I least prefer should I live with is the earliest LP400. The rims look like a Urracco, and no wheel flairs? I do really like the peroscope part though, the ac vents. The Anniversary version is cool, I like alot of the improvements. I haven't yet sat in one, but the seats look more comfortable, especially the sport seat option. A down draught version would be spectacular - good catch Jeff - lets see some pictures!

i have an 87 black/black countach,i think this color combo will become even hotter as the years go on. it looks the most like my favorite jet..the sr71 blackbird.i bought her 6 years ago..wish i would have bought 2 more! i like working the car, i like the sound of the car,i like the feel of the car.it has the gold wheel package, wing, and an extra condensing unit. i would hate to let my ramjet go, but looking another 5 years down the road i would let her go for 200k.

May be I was a bit swipping on the 25th anniv model. I forgot they are also coming as DD. I was thinking more about the injected anniv in the Us. I dont see why they would be worth more that the other injected QVs and what would set themn appart. But thank you to help make that clarification. I would buy an euro anniv DD.

now again we are cherry picking here. Any CT no matter what model it is still has the CT magic
