Goto this site http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/ look in the "parts for sale" section...there is a guys who can get you bravo style wheel in 17's or 19's with a custom offset...there used to be a pic of a Countach with the bigger bravo style wheel, he may be able to show you.

The problem with those from the ad on the registry is that they a three piece rims that only look similar. They make a real Countach look like a kit car. I would only do it if it was done in a one piece forged rim that look identical to the originals, only slightly larger.

John,

I agree, The wheels should keep the same look, or it will scream kitcar.

I'll have more info. in the near future as to making the wheels a reality, for now we'll be working on a C.A.D.

Greg

Not doing this to make money, just doing it for the love of cars!

Even the Wheels at the Mirage Kit Cars are suddenly recognizable as different, as it's like this you can directly take the 3 piece rims.

Diameter would increase 1" from stock, so clearances would have to be checked first. I've put together a crappy pic of what it would look like just to get an idea, What do ya think? Remember this is mostly just for fun, but who knows.

I would personally not go with 17" on a Countach realizing you will loose driveability due the the higher gearing. A second but important issue is the look. I've seen some cars with early Diablo wheels and it doesn't "feel" right.
Just my 2 cents...

The tire OD is only 1" larger running an 18" in the rear, not sure that will make a big differance.
As for the "feel", keeping with the countach design is the way to go IMO. This is a way to update the the look without a permenant alt. and the originals could be reinstalled at anytime.
The idea behind this is the same reason most of us own these cars, for the fun of it.

1" difference + plus heavier weight. I am not trying to discourage you in any way. I already looked into this issue long long time ago and went far enough to the point of obtaining blue prints for the original wheels. However, it just doesnt make any sense to do it.
