Default another ferrari owner coming over

gentlemen, this thread will probably be similar to many, many ones from the past, so forgive me for redundancy...I am a lifelong ferrari and lamborghini fanatic, but have only owned ferraris due to budgetary restraints. now at 40 years old and in a postition to spend a little more than in the past, my desire for lamborghini's is very strong, particularly the countach...rare, downdrafts are hard to find and rather expensive, so I am about to pull the trigger on an anniversary edition. it has less than 2k miles, but will be restored by an authorized dealer, which should minimize future problems. I am choosing to purchase this one, rather than a 14k mile U.S.2 valve FI, even though the 2 valve is $25k less. so I guess my only question is...is there a consensus throughout the forum, that if money is not an issue, the anniversary is probably the wiser choice.

also, if anyone as any particular items for me to look for or ask about with regards to the anniversary, I would appreciate the guidance before the purchase...

thanks, looking forward to getting to know the group...
william

Thumbs up

Welcome to the fold. I have a 84 2 valve, from what I understand from the people here the 4V 85 to 86 is the most popular due to the clean lines and none of those after thoiught skirts etc.

Personally I would go for the high mileage one ANY time over a garage queen, you will get the same answer from 100% of the people here.

The cosmetic thing is so objective. I personally like the Anniversary car with the monochromatic look. It is also more comfortable and with climate control.
As you say, if it is restored then you would likely be doing fine. A real piece of history.
Good luck.

thanks for the response. I am traveling tuesday to see the car in person. since everything is original, are there any improvements or upgrades that you would classify as a "must do", like improving airflow, different cams, exhaust upgrade...since it will be torn apart for 30-60 days, it will definitely be convenient to do anything to it now. I know that the hp on these cars can certainly vary depending on these things...

thanks
