Roy is right, to anyone is own:
to me the only ugly countach is the 25th, they ruined the lines imo trying to make it a testarossa wannabe

anyway the anniversary is not the right car for collector choice, too many cars made and too many for sale, take a look at how many Lp400 are out there for sale?

In Europe the 25th is commonly seen for sale. Today on www.mobile.de there are 13 "real" Countaches for sale:

4000S 1 for sale

5000S 2 valve 1 for sale

5000 QV 2 for sale (both modded with rear fender flairs, after-market wheels, electric opening doors, etc.)

25th Ann. 9 for sale

The 25th came out because the Diablo launch was delayed. The QV was "Americanized" by Chrysler. Personally I find it very "chunky" and top heavy with the one-piece air intake/exit. I don't care for the side skirts either - the rounded underbody is a C/T trademark - a shame to cover it up. The "improvements" are chrome wheels, rear bumper, electric seats, power windows and 2 piece seats - besides other refinements took away the spartan/brutal force of the Coutach IMO.

In 1989-1990 the sports car boom was in full swing and factories such as Lamborghini could sell anything. Now the European collector has made choices and the 25th does not seem in demand.

All the technical specifications I have read show no weight difference between the QV and the 25th - I find it hard to believe.

My 2 cents

Alex

on lambocars.com the 25th is mentioned to be 100Kg heavier than the QV.
They carburetted ones are also said to have slightly more power what I can't believe since the engine internals were not changed at all.

BTW all not 25th are swiss cars

Well for your information Roy just bought a 89 Pearl Red Countach with about 2500 miles on it for.....$117000! It is obvious that he felt the car was worth that. Also the reason Lamborghini built so many Aniversary cars is becasue the demand for these cars was very high. Lamborghini thought they would do a limited run of about 200 buy wound up building about 650 because of that demand and sold every car. The 89/90 car had many mechanical improvements over the previous models. Today guys like Roy are predicting that the value of the Countach will approach $200K in 5 years. That is his estimate not mine.

That's perfect, this means we can export all these ugly 25th to the states and keep the older ones here in Europe

One man's tea is another man's poison. I personally appreciate every Countach model that was ever made. I think they are all Automotive Art, every one of them!

SPEED2
true,
89-90 they could sell even more than 650 anniversary, as Ferrari could sell so many 348's and F40, the main reason is that the supercar market was going mad before the 91 bubble explosion
i remember my fother was offered 1.5 as much as he paid for his preowned jalpa 2 days after he bought it in 1990 :
the 90 market was crazy
i think the countach will approach 200k to,
only in my own opinion this model won't be the most desirable of the serie
