I do not have Jalpa rod dimensions...but I would not go over about 86.5 mm with the liners, or they may distort.

Jim Patterson is / was a fairly well known Ferrari developer in Texas, perhaps he has parts sources for cams, springs etc.

Stebro posts on eBay from time to time and I know several folks who have contacted them and got deals WAY off list. As far as quality - on the Urraco side, I've definitely heard of fitting problems, but haven't seen much in the way of before and after performance results ...

Chris' Larini system definitely sounds interesting IMO ... Larini is a higher end supplier w/, I think, a good rep ... ?

As far as engine parts, you might try contacting GT Car Parts in Arizona (623)780-2200. I'd be surprised if they didn't have something to offer, but they'll want to sell what they can get to you, not talk about options, suppliers, particularly other suppliers, etc. Still if nothing else, they have supplied a lot of Lambo and F-car rebuilds/restorations over the years and should have some experience worth discussing ... Talk to Bill for this ... Although last time I did he, was complaining that the Lambo folks didn't need to buy as often as the F-car folks ... ;-)

I bet Laust has some suppliers to offer from his Jalpa TT work ... Laust? :-)

Very interested to hear where you end up sourcing parts, what you pull together and how it ends up performing Lee!!!

Regards,

Bryan

Oh I have a set of 304 ss Urraco p250 headers. The left side or back side will fit a Jalpa but the right side or front side you will have to it modified, the p250 went over transmission not under it. and the flanges on the collecteds are not welded on. Now I do not know who made them, and they are not polished but they are new not used. if you're interested please let me know.

I profiled the Jalpa cams this weekend and have lots of data for everyone. I will be posting cam profile graphs as soon as I plot the points. The lift is .396 on both intake and Exhaust. The duration @ .050 is 200 Degrees on both the Intake and Exhaust. These are very mild grinds and can probably be greatly improved. One cam Mfgr quoted 1200 per cam but said the price would drop significantly if the order was 10 cams.I just started shopping so the quotes will start coming soon.1200 seemed a little high. I spoke with Manley friday and valves run from $27 to 36 each depending if you want regular stainless or high performance. I am going to order them as soon as we Flow bench the heads and see if bigger valves wiil fit and/or benefit. Heads are off to Automotive Machine in Ft worth.(Great Machine shop with both Flow Bench and CNC) They run about a month+ behind so I will just have to wait. I am also trying to figure out how to increase the lift and still get the cams back in. The coil bind height doesnt leave much room for play since you cannot remove the cams except with the spacers under the Valves.I dont know if there are any springs out there that could be made to fit.Any Ideas?I think I can raise Lift to maybe .500 unless I recut the cam bores and put in cams with larger Journals.I am definately interested in both the pics and possibly purchase of the headers send me a PM with pics and price.I have heard some pretty bad stuff about Stebro and am a little afraid to send them money. If necessary I will custom build the Headers. Thanks again everyone. The input is great.

Here are some Pics of the Heads with the dial indicator for profiling the cams. I used an old flight computor for the degree wheel. Look at the shape of that exhaust valve. It had only 18K miles on it.

Lee:

Great photo's! Keep them coming! I hope you replace the exhaust manifolds!! That was the worst hatchet job I had ever seen when I had the car! It was one of the things I never got around to replacing!

That is the POS exhaust manifold that Mike and I were talking about. It is probably what caused the exhaust valves to burn .Too much reversion and no scavenging. One interesting observation I found is the cam timing can be infinintely varied due to the setup. Has anyone experimented on a dyno with cam timing? Is the stock cam timing the same as the silhoutte? Can it be changed with the engine in the car?
