Default Looking for Jalpa.

i have a thread in the classifieds and on several boards. i am looking for a euro spec Jalpa. car must pass a basic PPI. i will also fly there to see the car. can pay cash / wire transfer. only interested in cars in the 48 States. i dont want to try to bring one in from Canada or elsewhere. i am exempt from emissions and i dont care about color or working airconditioning. any help would be great.

thank you.

i detested the sealed USA airboxes. when you have to either cut a hole in the car or drop the engine out to change the 4 front bank plugs.... i would rather just buy another car.

After a certain (can't remember which) year they have an access panel to change the front plugs.

you don't have to "drop the engine out to change the 4 front bank plugs" even if you don't have the have the cut out access panel

then YOU show me how you get the forward 4 plug out of a USA SPEC JALPA. not a euro one without the access panel. the access panel was not added according to Raymonds fine Jalpa site until after *123??* which is late in the production ( late 87-88s). my car was an '85, *12250* had no panel, and there was no way from under the car to get to the forward 4 plugs. the sealed airboxes wont allow you enough room to go around or between them.

on a ferrari 308 with the individual air cleaners from Pierce Manifolds, i could tweak the carbs, change the plugs ( all 8) and mess with the whole top of the motor. the Jalpa was a royal pain in the butt because of the Federal mandated sealed airboxes for gas fumes / emissions.

so please, show me what USA spec Jalpa you have in Austrailia and how you change your forward 4 plugs.

i simply want a euro car instead, and i am exempt in Georgia on any EPA, DOT, emissions regs on any car made before 1985. i dont even have to have a title here on any car made before 85!

show me how you guys change those plugs "Down Under!!!

Not sure how different my 85 CDN car is different from Euro or even U.S. but I have had the plugs changed twice with no problem. They didn't access the panel through the firewall either. The hose going to the oil cooler just needs to be moved to get cylinder 5.
If you don't find your U.S one call me.

Mine is an '86 and it has the panel. Neither here nor there, you want a euro spec so we will keep our eyes open for you.
