Default Jalpa Transmission and clutch

From reading the threads, i've noticed no one really talks much about the Jalpa's clutch and tranny/syncros.....Does that mean they are pretty much bullet proof and never seam to break down? Are Clutches expensive or is there a replacement cheaper from another car??

They do not seem to be too problematic. There is a replacement for the clutch it is Sachs 1861-561-002 Note: This disc is also used on the BMW M5. (taken from www.jalpa.ch, thanks Raymond)

My ex-Jalpa still has the first clutch with 75t Km on the odo...
Sachs-Disc is inexpensive, about $300 for the disc, the problem is more the flywheel, this is special to the jalpa, the pressure plate is again a standard sachs part.

The Slave cylinders can cause small problems but rebuild kits can be bought at a parts store, no big deal.

exactly, the slave cylinder was sleeved to decrease diameter, I first tried an alfa part and had then the old one overhouled.
www.jalpa.ch -> common problems exchanging the slave is really no big deal.
The problem a new one costs about $600 either from lambo or having one sleeved...

There is alot of safety wire on and in them. The trans might be one of the best built/engineered parts of the Jalpa. It also looks kinda cool, especially when you look at what other manufactors built for a sideways sitting transaxle.

They are for sure available but I don't know the price, I suppose against $2000
But the good thing, the first time you change the clutch you can normally resurface the flywheel and pressure plate, as I already mentioned my car still has the first clutch with 75t Km on the odo...
