Default Jalpa PPI thread... again

i am waiting for pics of a euro Jalpa . i know that car has been sitting for awhile. i have cash in hand and am ready to fly to see it.

if any Lambo owners on here are in or near Columbus Ohio and want to look at it before i spend cash to fly that would be great. i will also be looking for a shop to look over the car and do a basic PPI. i hate the fact i have to pay 6% sales tax since the owner of the dealership has the title in the dealerships name.

any advice or pics of true euro spec 1983 Jalpas would be great. i am going to buy a set of the gold 5 hole wheels if i buy the car, and i know up front that it has no spare and an incomplete tool kit. i think the spare alone is $1000, or so i am told.

i have tried to go to Raymonds fine Jalpa site and look through the registry, but the link is gone ??? all i can see are the usual links. i think the cars chasis number is *12038* but i am not sure.

PPI advice would be nice as far as unique Jalpa stuff goes. i know the valve guides and wheel bearings are a sore point.

and yes the car is a Evans place, so that rules him out on the PPI.

thanks for any advice.

Michael

George Evan is an upstanding person. I have dealt with him in that past and only have good things to say. I would still have a PPI done but I would be much more comfortable knowing that the car is coming from him. Just my 2 cents.

Michael,

I have an 83 Euro Jalpa.............let me know if you need anything specific. Evans has an impecable reputation. If he tells you the car is a strait car, I would believe him. I doubt he would risk his reputation to make a few dollars on a sale. I just had my car done by Wil over at Exoticars.......runs better than new now. Getting the fuel mixture right was quite a challenge (car loves to run rich) I am also changing over to a full synthetic 20w-50.

I bought my spare tire, but don't recall it being so much. Not sure of how some states work but if you live somewhere else, many times state tax does not apply. You should ask him to register it to himself if it does and deduct the tax. If he registered it in the dealers name, he would have saved the tax in the first place. Good luck.

thanks for the replys! George still has the car, and has sent some pics of it. i love the car and would like to fly there and see it. however, he is thinking of listing it on Ebay to see what it will bring. cant say i blame him, but i may still have a shot at it! if i miss this one, i guess i will wait until winter when the snow birds sell the toys!

will update when i can,

Michael

Even if I was offered 50K for my Jalpa I would not sell it.
