Its on its way to me in San Francisco!

I am looking forward to this adventure, and adding this car to my garage alongside my 308 GTS.

First step will be to get it through CA smog

Picked up the Jalpa yesterday and spent the day sorting things out and taking stock, overall I am very pleased.

Prior owner has the car for 13 years, and has done the following.

1) Recent all new interior. Cream with red piping. The leatherwork is amazing, every nook and cranny fits perfect, absolutely amazing - someone really did a top notch job. Also, all new wool carpeting (in a sort of tan/grey).

2) Full respray in original color. Looks like 9 out of 10 condition, the wing needs some touch up work as does one of the skirts.

3) Recent valve job

4) Rebuilt carbs

5) New MSD ignition

6) Some work adjusting the chains/tensioners

7) Shock/struts rebuilt (still sorting through this, they look original but have been customized and are adjustable).

8) rebuilt alternator

What needs to happen:

1) Car runs/pulls very strong at WOT, but the carbs linkage needs to be gone through. I am going to take all the linkage off and do a full setup. The linkage setup seems much betterd designed than the 308. My 308 has razor sharp response, and you can blip the throttle like a sport bike. Current setup on the Jalpa is very sluggish.

2) The front window was inoperable. I had power at the switch, and power at the connector at the window motor, so I thought the motor was shot. I ran a 12v direct from the battery and it freed up. So, cleaned the connectors and works fine (almost as slow as the 308).

3) Pulling off exhaust, and going to gut the cats, save them, and install new magnaflow cats on for emission testing.

4) owner installed aftermarket fog lights, but gave me the OEM carello's, one has a cracked lense. Any leads?

5) I bought a set of Eurospare bravo repros, which I put on the car, makes a world of difference.

6) Tach doesnt work. Read all the threads, need to spend time sorting this out. Speedo is also out, as well as a few other gauges, such as oil temp.

thats all for now, looking forward to getting the carbs setup perfectly.
