Thinking of selling my 74 Detomaso Pantera GT5 clone for a Jalpa but, don't care much for the stock wheels and feel it would look 100% better with aftermarket 17", 18" or 19" 5 spoke type wheels......anyone have pictures and possibly sizes/offsets of these larger wheels on a Jalpa? I appreciate the help. If easier, feel free to email the pictures to me at emery@hawaii.rr.com

I have both a Jalpa and a Pantera. I have the 17 inch wheels on the rear of the Pantera. There is no way that those wheels will fit under a Jalpa. When I got my Jalpa it had the 345/35/15 tires off a Countach on the 11 inch Bravo wheels. It rubbed pretty bad. I put the correct 285/40/15 tires on it & now it doesn't rub. I think the circumference of these tires is 24.5 inches. You would have to work with that & around a 11 or less inch rim. The bolt pattern is 5 x 120 mm, the same as a BMW, and possibly an 80's GM (?), so you could play with some borrowed rims possibly.

Early Cat
I have 18" wheels all around on my Pantera.18x10 front and 18x13 rear! Sure makes it look good. Got the wheels from Kodiak Motorsports in Canada. They fit good because I have the GT5 flares. I've seen a few Jalpas with after market wheels but, not sure how to post them here. I especialy liked the white Jalpa from Canada that sold about 6 months ago that had 17" five spoke wheels. Now a days in magazines like Dupont Registry...quite a few Lambos are changing out the wheels for a more aggressive look. I feel as long as you keep the originals, all is good for resale. Early Cat please email me and we can trade photos, etc. Thanks! emery@hawaii.rr.com (Maui ) |

Here are a couple of solutions for wider wheels:
This is Herman Lewis’ black Jalpa with aftermarket wheels. I believe they are 17” and having seen them “live” they fit perfectly in the wheel-wells. I also think he rolled the lips in the front. I actually like the original look and found a place that could widen aluminum wheels, so my rear wheels are now 10”. There probably is space for 12” wheels, but I couldn’t find 16” tires to fit that size. Picture 2 and 3 here shows my rear wheels. Laust |

This is the Jalpa I owned for almost 4 years. Just sold it. The rims make the car look fantastic.
