Default will the 2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 affect the value of 04 to 07 Gallardo?

Do you think there will be a big price adjustment on the 04 to 08 Gallardo when the 2009 Gallardo LP 560-4 comes out? will that be a limited production model? or will that be the new standard Gallardo from 09 and later model?

should I wait or should I move forward to make the purchase now? please advise?

I think it is going to be a standard Gallardo model. Regarding the price, it should be atleast upto $50,000 more then the previous model. I think Lamborghini will plan to sell this model for atleast another 2 years before making any major changes. The only other model in this category, which could hit the roads should be the convertible Gallardo.

It looks like minor changes, but the price will certainly be higher. As others on this board have mentioned (tons of conversations on this topic), the exchange rate alone will be enough to expect a large price increase. This is a strange time right now - weak economy in the US and Gallardo's are not moving, combined with a new model about to hit the showroom floor and corporate will likely encourage dealers to move the 2008s out sooner rather than later. Net result - a buyers market, and time is on your side. If you have no color or option preference there are great buys now, and will likely get better in the next few months. Use this time to educate yourself on the going prices - so you know a deal when you see it. Lots of resources to do so. As for my purchase - I'm 90% done, just need to fill in a few blanks.

I would never buy a new car, and especially now. You should really be able to muscle the dealers on older models.

Thank you for all your wonderful inputs. I agree with the weak economy and weak dolllar, buyers are getting thiner and thiner. I will be going to a dealer today checking out some 05 and 06 models. hopefully find something good.

It will still effect the resale, you may save at the front, but you lose it at the back. I think the new car will hurt the previous model substantially.

I am trying to do exactly that, to get a '08 showroom Gallardo off my local dealer for a big discount. So far, he's only giving me a 13% discount from list price, but I am shooting for 20%.

Default Good Deal? 234K 08

I am looking at a 08 spyder and the dealer is willing to discount from 255K to 234K. The car is loaded with options. Is this a good deal or should I try for more?

Thanks Russ

I wish it worked that way. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of dealers are sitting on cars that they proably paid too much money for. They can't reduce the price without losing money. If you look at the 04 and 05s that are for sale, you will see that the pricing is very tight and they have been on the market for a very long time.

When are LP560-4s expected to hit dealerships and go on sale?
