Default who wants a clear motor cover ?

the clear motor cover will be for a diablo and would be a direct replacement

parralell designs: http://www.paralleldesigns.co.uk has a cover that will retrofit apparantly
found them through forum member abunawafff's good efforts

i have asked them if they will provide me with a cover, and i would have it modfiied here or wether they could modify it in which case, if its the latter members can buy from them too

basically the design envolves cutting out a very large window that eliminates the vents and replacing it with a clear or very lightly tinted lexan sheet, the sheet would be flush with the motor cover by using H channel rubber and would look oem

the cover has six 4" dia holes along the longs sides toward the outer edges perhaps even with metal trim rings inset in each

i have asked naz at parralell to supply the cover with the visor, 3rd brakelight and front latch hooks and wiring so its a simple bolt on and will not de value your car

looking though the cover you would only see the heart of the motor and the huge intake tubes, not the surrounding chassis and hardware

for me it would be an awesome mod and that much more interesting for onlookers to show of the cars 'jewel' oftentimes onlookers have no idea, certainly they would appreciate its the real thing, and it doesnt ruin the lines of the car at all

let me have your comments and if there are a few of us maybe naz will do the work instead of me , i am willing to be the guineau pig so hopefully no commitment untill i report back with pics etc on my car

regards to all

Wouldn't there be a concern of engine heat distorting the lexan? It would be a nice look with the holes, kind of like sooo 90's. How about using laminated glass with the holes in the painted area on each side? If there's room to do it that way.

yes heat is the main concern
the holes will be pretty damn huge so it should vent really well
the lexan will be maybe .2" thick which should not distort at all

the window is huge, basically a window with a black frame ie whats left of the cover
the inside of the cover will be braced with a giant "x" made from 1" dia aluminum extrusion, youll see this running above the motor and it should look pretty sweet

naz at parrallell assures me their cover is a retrofit and after extensive reading i believe it, i think they make the best replica bar none

Yep!

I'd like to see it and what is the price?

I wouldn't want to modify my hood. Does it come complete?
