That reminds me of the time when my 83 countach ran out of gas two days after I bought it! A previous mechanic had routed the balance tube for the fuel tanks up over the engine and the tanks would not balance out. I only filled one tank (the right one). that happens to also be the one with the gas guage on it, but the fuel pump pickup comes from the left tank. Toodling down the road and silence. Talk about embarrassing! At least there wasn't a lack of people stopping to help. I had to leave it there go to a gas station, buy a gas can, funnel and gas, hitchhike back to the car, where it had a audience and put gas in the left tank. A memorable experience, but a embarassing one.

Well, not an owner yet. But the most memorable was when a really nice chap from the San Fransisco area brought his black LP400 Countach for the Concorso in 2000. He was generous enough to let a lanky 6'5" 21 year old "kid" sit in his beautiful machine. I had dreamt of the moment for at least 15 years, and it had finally come to fruition. You have no idea the kind of anticipation I am building for my first purchase and subsequent delivery.

Although I haven't had mine long, my most memorable moment was 50 feet off the dealer lot the day I picked it up...I am at the first stop light, when a White Range Rover (royal family's car of choice) pulls up next to me..it has a low license plate number, meaning someone with connections is in there..anyway the tinted window rolls down, an older (50's) Arab guy, very distinguished looking turns to me smiles and gives me the thumbs up...

On the second day of my first lambo, the diablo, ive headed to a private spa and sports club in korea town of los angeles. The lots were fully occupied on the first two levels and the management actually had me park at the handicap spot right in front of the entrance. I see a man on the wheel chair stairing at me with an angry face then complains to the management. the guard approaches me, so i thought he would tell me to move my car again. He comes then says "nice car"
