You would have to go with the Taurus star sign. Just as you pointed out the "bull for car name themes" didn't get introduced until the Miura.

Based on Wikipedia it was his sign Taurus that inspired the bull logo. Quote from Wikepedia below.

"This Lamborghini 350GTV prototype began making public appearances in 1963, starting with the Turin Auto Show. Sales of the production model, known as the 350GT, began the following year with great success, with over 130 examples sold. Born under the sign of the taurus, Ferruccio Lamborghini used the bull as the badge by which to mark his new automobile."

The bloodline of todays spainish bulls have their origin from 5 breeds. One line is the Cabrera bulls. Cabrera males were purchased by D Jaun Miura for the Miura Ranch around 1850. They were well respected and regarded as pure breed which I surmise is some reasons why Ferruccio chose the name.

Ferruccio spoke about visiting the Miura Ranch in the early 60's with then owner Eduardo Miura prior to forming his car company.

And yes, Ferruccio was born on April 26th, 1 week after the sign change to Taurus, two days after my birth date - hence my screen name - Taurean Bull. Also, didn't Ferruccio use the bull on his tractors and air conditioners long before he started building cars?

I don't see how given the history. The Lambo logo with bull was seen (along with the cars) as a slam on Ferrari (eventually same colors, name with an animal etc).

The tractors did eventually get the logo but originally they had only the Lamborghini name.
