Default What was it like when you bought your first lambo

Im curious how everyone went about buying there first Lambo and how you felt.

Im very young but pushed very hard to be successful and all ive really wanted to have since i was little was to have a Lamborghini in the garage.

What im curious to know is how is it out driving in a car such as these?

And this question might not come across right, but im curious as for how much some of you guys make. i think i can handle it not a problem going through a lease. But itd kinda make me feel better if i knew people in the same price bracket are makin such large purchases. and i can use it to reason with the wife!

And would you purchase or lease? id like to put 20-30k down. but wont keep the car but 2-3 years tops.

Thanks guys
Ryan

Welcome Ryan. This question has been asked here so many times. Unfortunately, it is not going to be answered. We are all very private when it comes to "personal" stuff such as income. My advice to you is to start off with one that you can afford. There are a lot of older Lamborghinis available within reach. Get one of those to start and move your way up. There are a number of members that started with Jalpas or Urracos and move to the Countach and Diablo and then to Gallardos to Murcies. It is like anything else, live within your means.

Most important is not the price of the car but the price of maintenance. Hope this answers part of your questions. But please refrain from asking about personal info such as income

Thank you and welcome.

Maybe we can change this topic to "What was it like when you bought your first lambo?" Like the first test drive and the feeling you had when the deal was done and you could say "this is mine". Would love to hear some stories

Well, I'll go first.

I wanted to purchase a Diablo for two years running. I participated in several auctions without any luck. About the tenth auction I actually didn't think I was going to win. When the auction ended - I sat at my desk glued to my seat without talking or even moving. What was probably only a few seconds, felt like an hour. I remember saying: Holy cow - I won!!! I won! I won! I won! My wife and sons didn't beleive me...they do now!

Actually it was a Chevy dealer that pushed my final decision to buy my 1991 Diablo. In all honesty I wanted the new Z06. I have had 3 corvettes, and when I heard the specs on the new one, I had to have one. The msrp on the car is about 67K. But the dealers were putting a 25k-30k mark up on them. After a couple of months of frustration I saw the light. Hell, if I am going to spend almost 100K on a car, I might as well get my ultimate dream car. Not to mention it won't depreciate like a new car. The rest is history

I wasn't all smiles...I didn't get a manual with mine and trying to figure out all the buttons and quirks on this car was kind of aggrevating, but I understand these cars a whole hell of alot more than when I first got it.... and feel comfortible wrenching on them myself...so my attitude eased a bit and even when I am not driving it...I like to look at it. It's art to me. Now maintenance...hmm...that's another story...

Overall....I am happy with the purchase, But I will be getting another sports car...but of course I will keep the Diablo. I smell a twin turbo Viper..... All my porsche buddies are teasing about the maintenance, but if I wanted to be like a million others...I would have gotten a porsche.

Just curious. what would you spend on maintance on a gallardo or an early model diablo if you drove it 5k miles. then say 10k miles?

is it really that bad? a few grand in maintance to drive this kidna car i think is worth it.

I race motorcycles. lol and maintance on that is every week. i bet i spend 300-500 a month on the bike. and it was only 5 grand new
