Default vandalism like crazy

I've had my 2001 diablo parked in a private lot in berkeley ca for 4 nights.
in 4 nights I've had:
footprints on the engine cover and roof, cracked windshield, pry marks on the passenger side, pry marks on drivers door hinge area, jimmied door handles and a swift kick to the drivers door to the point of severe damage.

what the hell is wrong with people?

Michael, that sounds so bad it's almost to the point of being unbelievable. Which SN# car do you have? What color is it? Can we have some pics with and w/o damage? Very curious.

"what the hell is wrong with people?" In Berkeley, they have a sense of entitlement no matter what. Perhaps if you left it out in Los Altos you might be better off...Sad state society is in these days..

I agree that you should never leave you Lambo un-attended when you are out in public. My past experience has been nothing less then horrified when I return to my parked car to find people touching and tapping it with a finger to see if it is real or a kit. Their ignorance is why I don't take mine out much.

I had a fat lady lean over to look at the clear mask line and dump ice cream on the hood less than a half hour after having the car washed. I've had kids leaning against the windows, with jackets open (luckily no zipper scratches) and I've had lots of people leaning against the car for a picture. Somehow leaning against the car makes it look more like theirs or something. I caught one guy just about to put his foot on the rear bumper for a picture. I don't get it. Because of stuff like this, I valet park unless it absolutely can't be helped. (I keep printed laminated instructions for valets after one claimed to know the car then dragged it with the parking brake on.) Where I take the car takes some planning as it does attract attention, both good and bad depending on where I go. There are places in Orange County where I can take the car without it getting a second look and that's kind of nice. How people react to the car seems to be completely random. Most of the time people are very respectful and are just happy to see it, and other times I get some self-centered jerk who doesn't respect anything. The car sometimes attracts some really odd individuals. One guy came up was bragging to me that he just sold his earlier that day. He was driving an old very beat up Lexus. Minutes later, I saw him bent over that same Lexus in handcuffs. I also had a guy come up to me and start the usual chat, then he tells me he's was wanted by the police and wanted a ride anywhere out of there. He wasn't kidding either. Pick your landing spot carefully!

OUCH!!

If you dont mind where exactly were you parked. Berkeley has some really kick ass resturants and I have driven my G out there a few times, there's never any valet.

Not a lambo ok, but I used to be paranoid where I would park my Lotus Esprit. No matter how safe a place I would find, it would attract trouble. Came back to it once to find some guy using it as a desk. He had his brief case on the roof and was writing his papers on the bonnet (I guess it was ideal being low and flat). Another time I picked the furthest parking bay from the store (despite the car park being almost empty anyway), when I came back the Lotus was flanked by two vans with the owners using the roof as a coffee table! I went absolutely nuts...
