Default So what makes the quality of a hand built car better?

Other than the obvious fine materials used, I would think that factory production...other than maybe paint...would be pretty good these days. What have you found with your car that the avg guy wouldn't appreciate?

I find the quality of the work so-so on my early 78 Countach. When you start getting into areas that can't be seen until things come apart or underneath and inside, you see some sloppiness. Take a door panal off in an old Countach and you see. Look at the gluing of leather and material.
Undoubtedly would not be acceptable if produced today.

Hand built cars are not more reliable than production cars at all. With all the automation, production process improvements, and cookie cutter mentality, each car off the assembly line is way more precision built than a room for error hand built car. But the exclusivness of "hand built" is what turns us ON, and gives each car it's own personality
