Default Questions

Okay, forgive me if this has been done millions of times.

What is your favorite question that someone has asked you about your car?

Which car was it asked about?

I live in the middle of no-where so I was a little suprised when a guy jumped off a truck at our loading dock to run over for a look at his dream car, my 2001 Jag XKR. I was so amazed he knew what it was that I gave him a ride. Also had a group of young teenagers ask if it was an Aston. There is hope for the youger generation.

Why were you surprised he knew what it was? At least the kids got the country of origin right. Plus, you didn't have to spend Aston $$

I drove a Maserati Biturbo in high school, and it wasn't a question, but a girl called it "quirky". Almost nobody pronounced it right. I actually feel proud to have brought that little bit of "culture" to our school. I've always been pretty eccentric. I do remember though, that almost everyone thought it was one of those Chrysler / Maserati things. Many say that the Biturbo range was the worst thing that ever wore the trident. They seem to have forgotten the TC. Besides, the Biturbo saw the company through the 80's, and without it, It probably would have fallen off the face of the earth. Sorry for the tangent.

You need to pay me a visit here and you'd soon discover what I mean about "in the middle of no-where" People from around here can look at a horse drawn buggy and tell you if it's Menonite or Amish! I hade the only XKR in Ashland and Richland County as far as I know. People here whould not know what a Maserati Biturbo is either. A Lamborghini sighting here can be a once in a life time event

"Is that the same car that Lance Briggs crashed?" That was so annoying right after the accident every person that walked into my showroom kept asking questions, including 4 news reporters......

One of the questions that comes up with the Countach (or any Lamborghini) is...... How much did you pay for it?

I am usually very polite and smile and say:

"Sorry I can't tell you 'cause I haven't even told my wife how much I paid yet".

It usually gets a laugh and allows me to move on to other questions.

One other one;

My customers wife is a big Lamborghini fan. When he found out I had the car, he asked if I would give his wife a ride. I took her out for a bit of a drive and then took him out for a ride. We were making small talk when he commented on the attention that the car drew. He said "man you must be able to get tons of girls in this car".
To which I smiled and replied "Yea,it's amazing, I got propositioned less than five minutes ago".

It took him a minute to catch on and then we both had a good laugh.

My answer to this question: "Twice the half..."
