1.probably get worse, there is no reason to do this for me if you don't want to improve the brakes with bigger ones 2. expensive with original parts for bumpers and bad idea for originality 3.nice but i think only affolter made a clear cover resale could only be lower if you don't keep original parts keep all original parts and you will have your value intact p.s. i wouldn't do these mods on a diablo, only a good exaust, may be filters and brakes upgrade for early diablos, that's all, my 2 cents ![]() Last edited by emilio : 03-02-2006 at 11:53 AM. |

I've had similar thoughts with my 91 Diablo.
I have put on a set of chrome OZ alloys as per SV, 17 fnt 18 rear, hasnt made the ride any worse, I keep the original rims and planning to use them for track days. I don't like the look of the open headlamps, and as this is not a reversible change, recommend that you don't do this. Its a bit like tacking on a murci front end to the 6.0 , just wrong, in my opinion. I've been thinking about adding a low rear wing in show carbon fibre, and perhaps carbon fibre around the rear lights and vent that is between them. This is reversible, won't detract from the value of the car. Don't expect to add value to the car by making mods, just make sure that you don't take value away. Brake upgrade would be really appropriate for the car. When I get in one of my other cars after driving the Lambo, first press on the 'chicken pedal' nearly puts me thru the windscreen. ![]() |

all good points
im not a wing fan but i do think ours cars look better with them, i would suggest body color tho it would look good in red i may get another motor cover and fool around with that, cut a window and put plex in there i wonder if the replica guys covers will fit i may look into that |

All excellent solid advice (like usual
) Our Guys are the Best!!Get a fiberglass lid to cut on and save your original lid! For a fiberglass lid try the kit car makers and buy one cheap. |

hi all
i went down the same road with my 92 diablo. i was interested in fitting an sv engine cover and front. i found paralel designs in the uk (http://www.paralleldesigns.co.uk/indexframe.html) i great source. naz is helpful and easy to deal with. there panels are all moulded from original and he sells a few to original diablo owners. i think they have the sv, 6.0 and gtr panels. prices are quite reasonable. i purchased the sv tail light surrounds and they look great. matt |

Any aftermarket things that are not reversible will de-value your car.
Wheels are up to you..I can tell you 18 front and 19 rear works well. Don't car for fixed lights.. In case you've never done this, here's a tip: When sitting in a Diablo you can not see the front end of the car. This can make parking, manuvering in tight spots a problem. My solution is to "open" your lights and you can see exactly where the front end of the car is (add 6"). Re: glass hood. I made one from scratch on a 355. Was thinking of doing the same, just for fun, for this car. Fiberglass frame with plexiglass and vents. Similar to Murci hood. Just not a lot of time for me right now. But if I make one I'll post it with pix here. ps-agree that I would first upgrade brakes -if you have a good mechanic you can fit porsche turbo cross drilled with a very minor modification Last edited by fl_355 : 03-03-2006 at 06:07 AM. |
