Default New Miura will beat F.Enzo?

hi , i am new here.
i have already heard that Lamborghini and Audi are ready to build new Miura , which should be sold in 2008 or 2009.
It should beat Ferrari Enzo with better functions and better looks (lamborghini makes many cars looking the way better than ferrari).
does anyone know , if Lamborghini releases new Miura?..
i think , it should release , because Ferrari is still waiting for the competitor.
Murciélago was against Ferrar 595G..and now Ferrari Enzo should meat the competitor

I read somewhere the other day that the retro Miura won't happen, and that comment came directly from the factory.

That is correct. The Miura will not be built. Here is confirmation:

Lambo boss bans retro design Posted: 8:50am, 6 October 2006

New Lamborghini models will strive to make automotive history, not
repeat it, vows the company's president.

Lambo's brief flirtation with retro design – epitomised by the
January 2006 Miura concept – is over, says boss Stephan
Winkelmann. `The Miura was a celebration of our history, but
Lamborghini is about the future.

`Retro design is not what we are here for. So we won't do the Miura,
even as a limited edition.'

Lamborghini unveiled the updated Miura to celebrate the original
supercar's 40th birthday. But a plan to build the car stalled, when
the business case didn't stack up.

Winkelmann also said that other iconic nameplates – such as the
Espada 2+2 or the LM002 SUV – were unlikely to be resurrected
either. `The concept of a Lamborghini 2+2 or an SUV is possible, but
we wouldn't use the name Espada or LM002.'

The rumour mill suggests an SUV will be the next all-new
Lamborghini. The high performance 4x4 should share the underpinnings
of Audi's forthcoming Q5 crossover. The Cayenne rival, expected in
2008, will have typically outlandish styling.

`I want Lamborghini on the edge,' said Winkelmann. `Our brand values
are uncompromising, extreme and Italian. And I want our product to
match the brand. Lamborghinis must be lower, wider and more sharply
styled than our rivals.'

To tide us over, expect more versions of the existing range. A
roadster version of the LP640 is expected in late November, and
stripped out versions of the V12 Murcielago and V10 Gallardo are
also on the cards. The Gallardo might even go rear-drive, to save
weight and boost agility.

But Winkelmann vows Lamborghini will not grow too quickly. This
year, Sant'Agata expects to sell a record 2000 cars. `It would be
easy to sell more than 2000 cars next year, but I want a sustainable
business and we don't want to risk the brand. And I don't want
customers to have to wait longer than 12 months,' said Winkelmann.

Nevertheless Lamborghini should build a model , which can beat enzo..
I don´t want Lamborghini to produce SUV or just like that...
I want Lamborghini to stay for ever as the king of supercar.

Lamborghini was making high performance SUV's before it was cool. Doing another one is perfectly legitimate.

Also, the lp640 looks like its going to be just about as quick as the Enzo

And they should, perhaps at the end of this decade. However it should be something truly groundbreaking in terms of design and construction, just like the Countach in 1972. And in keeping with Lamborghinis values it should be a driveable GT not a purely track racer. To achieve all this I wouldn't mind seeing them being patient about it. For the time being I'm quite happy seeing Lamborghini focusing on their balance sheet. Once that is done I'm sure they'll put effort into redefining the brand with a Super Lambo. For now I'm very happy with Winkelman's vision for the company.

Default Re : They might make a real Muira

I have heard that if the company will receive around 1000 orders, they might put the car into production. it will have the Gallardo engine but will be a rear-wheel drive i guess.
I hope they put it into production couz god damn its beautiful.

Another thing, which i dont understand is that besides having such vast resources and an hounered history, why Lamborghini isn't making a car in the league of Enzo's Carrera GT's or Koneisgg. Like mentioned by "GTR" in one of the earlier post, they shud adopt carbon fibre frames and make their bulls lighter, i guess with less weight Murcielago can do as good as Enzo. Its just that the bull being bolder is kinda heavier . I mean we need something like 700 HP and a top speed of around 250.

Lamborghini's are unique as they come with AWD. But this AWD makes it bit slower in a drag as compared to RWD supercars. I want Lamborghini to stay with the AWD because it sets it apart from the other supercars and it offers it superb handling. but if they can work a bit on the weight of the bull, i bet it can smoke anything.

Also wanna confirm if Zonda engines are still made by Mercedez AMG division?. if they are then it shudnt be in the same league as other super cars. i mean common atleast make ur own engine. Engine is the 95% of the whole story which makes a car SUPERCAR.
