Default Last Murcielago

Anybody knows until which year the Murcielago is going to be produced ? I believe 2007 will be the last year.

They just launched the LP640 this year so I would guess another 3 years?? It also depends what Ferrari is up to. I would speculate a Murcie replacement to be MY09 or maybe even MY10. In the meantime I would expect some variants perhaps an SV or GT or SE. I think Lambo needs to reengineer the chassis to bring into the next decade to keep up with the Joneses. Ferrari has successfully migrated from steel tubing to aluminum chassis with the 599GTB. Lambo I hope would up the ante with their replacement.

Did anyone read the review of the 599 in Road and Track? They thought it was the greatest Ferrari of all time. Later in the issue they reviewed the LP640 and baisicly said it looked mean and had a few more hoprsepower than the Ferrari.

I read a british mag that reviewed the 599, LP640 and 997 Turbo, though not side by side. Don't remember the mag name, sorry(topgear??). But the writer who reviewed the LP640 loved it to bits and said that it is a different beast altogether from the 6.2 Murcielago. Its a must-have. The engine is so gloriously free-revving and steering response superb. The LP640 I think now is on a different level. It is THAT good.
