Backing a Countach is relatively easy.

You can either use the mirrors, or do as Valentino did, just sit your butt on the door sill and operate the pedals from that position.
It is not only easy, it gives you a perfect "overview" of the area behind you.

Besides, when the crowds gather to watch you move the car,( and trust me they do), it just adds to the mystique of Countach to reverse your car using this method.
Although I am just a grease monkey and do not own a lambo or a ferrari I do admit that of all the cars ranging from f40s 288 gtos and 430s the countach does get a lot more looks. Backing a countach sitting on the sill is the only way to safely do it and is almost as much of an art as the car its self.

I had a Ferrari Testarossa for 4 yrs, and I just sold it last year and bought a 91 Diablo. Let me tell you its like the other side of the coin. When I drove the Ferrari everyone wanted to race you, right down to the hopped up Neons. I had people spinning there tire every where you went. But now driving a Diablo. WOW. People stop and wait for you to leave first. Cars move out of the way in front of you to see you go by to scream out nice car, take pictures with there camera phones, and give you the thumbs up. It takes me 5-10 min. to get out of a gas station with everyone coming over to talk to me. I have little kids stand there with their mouth open when I open the door. And the power is amazing for a 15 yr old car.

Hey sws4re,

Grease monkeys can own either. Look for a Jalpa, 308 or 328. They are all less expensive than a nice muscle car or show car and you have the knowledge and tools to fix them.

Nice,

I think my biggest question for my Jalpa will be "What is it?".

Hey you Jalpa guys what questions do you get most?

You are correct. I just passed on a very nice 328 because it would make things a bit tight. I have worked on Ferraris for 6 years now (and a few lambos inbetween) and am strongly looking into getting a Ferrari. I think for now I am going to look into an early Viper to play with for a couple of years and when its paid for, I am going to pester the guy that has the first Ferrari I ever drove, a 95 355 gtb. Athough I still have most of my Countach posters from my childhood and still love to look at the Countach I feel the Ferrari is the car me. I still say that if I won the lottery or my buisness took off I would have to own a Lambo to make my life complete.

If you have the drive, ambition and an ability to invest in the future while spending less than you earn today, you can own either of these cars.
