As much as I'm a big fan of the Miura, my vote is for the Countach. The Miura was the first true exotic for Lamborghini, but it was the Countach that elevated Lamborghini to the top of exoticness. The design was just way ahead of its time. Imagine seeing this low slung, spacecraft looking car back in the 70's. Come to think of it, it's still wild and exotic looking 30 years later.

The countach was the first to have a compact design that integrated the engine and transmission. The countach was the first production vehicle to have scissor doors. The countach was the first to adopt the Pirelli legendary p7 tires. Bertone pioneered the electronic gauge cluster on the countach prototype. The countach shape was controversial and still is to this day. The countach redefined what an exotic car should be. Is it any wonder that this car is the most photographed car of all time? No, the car was not super revolutionary in terms of technology. But, lets face it. This was before the time computers, and 3d cad designs dominated the automotive landscape. So, on that regard, yes it was revolutionary. It's design altered the perception of the exotic sportscar and elevated the over the top status exotic cars should have. It mandated that a exotic car's design should be completely different from the average joe blow cars that were being cranked out. Sure, more exotic cars with more power, more handling, and higher price tags emerged. But, lets face it, the countach lead the way and paved the exotic car landscape and set the bar for others to follow. I believe this also for the NSX. Sure, it is not the most exotic car in the world. But, I believe that it set the bar for a comfortable exotic car that had exotic materials to match. This forced Ferrari and Porsche to really look hard and subesequently released the 355, and better handling porsches.

Thumbs up

Hi all,

The Miura was ahead of its time, but the Countach is BEYOND time. I hope you appreciate the difference. The Miura had feminine beauty but Countach had the perfect blend of looks/aggression/stance/WOW factor.

And why do some of you guys write "C/T" instead of the "COUNTACH" ??? Even the name is an expletive, an expression of wonder and amazement, just like its sci-fi looks and tech.

Wink

Even more easier to write would be "L/C", but then others will think you mean a "Letter of Credit" !!
