Default Lamborghini..Fantasy vs. Reality..

Gud day to everyone..I have decided to put up this thread to ask to the members[mostly the Lambo owners/senior members] to ask you guys personally "IS IT REALLY THAT HARD TO BUY YOU'RE OWN LAMBO"? Im not really asking on the process of buying one but more on like how hard is it to pay for the car, do the present owners previously just happen to have more than a quarter million dollars laying around and decide to buy a LAMBO?,or is it even possible for someone really determined to buy a LAMBO even if his yearly income is something like $45,000~50,000[WHAT ARE THE ODS OF THAT HAPPENING?IS IT REALLY POSSIBLE??]

I have been a LAMBO fan for about 5years now even though im just 16 years old and I am more than eagerly determined of owning a LAMBORGHINI in the mere future and what really bugs me is that most people would say its "VERY EXPENSIVE"..and about two days ago I have heard a 15 year old also wanting to own a LAMBO in the future, now I am asking the Senior Members and/or Proud Lambo Owners, "ARE WE REALLY STILL CAPABLE OF OWNING A LAMBO IN THE FUTURE [given the average lifestyle of a person]OR WOULD IT JUST BE LIKE ONE IN A MILLION CHANCE OF OWNING ONE??..OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION WHAT SETS ME ASIDE FROM EVERYONE ONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO BUY A LAMBO IS THAT I AM A FILIPINO AND YOU GUYS KNOW THAT ITS EXTREMELY RARE TO SEE TOP OF THE LINE CARS FROM PORSCHE, FERRARI, BMW, MERCEDES,AUDI...ETC. HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES

so I would like to hear from experiences and stories of the "SENIOR MEMBERS AND / OR PROUD LAMBO OWNERS" and what do you think are the odds of someone having thesame case like me to own a Lambo?

sorry for this quite long thread but im just so courious about this matter and I don't want my high hopes to be crushed either..any of you guys who wants to share regarding this matter than share away...ill be waiting thanks

in all honesty... with my experiance... (not usa, or euro. owner)

its not just about having the money to buy the car... after that u have to maintain the car... and that is a whole other story...

the best thing is to gain experiance from people u know who own the cars...
or websites like our own... read the problems and fixes off owners...

i dont think some one can give u the staight forward answer ur looking for...

most true lambo owners are dreamers.. and usualy take a bigger bite than they are comfortable with..( when buying..) and stik with the car becouse they cant belive they own it... its like a drug ....i must say.
it usualy involves hourse of just stairing at ur lambo..lool

in short its like being married and keeping a mistress on the side...its hard... but u find a way....then ur the boss..lool

Interesting question.
One in a million? Not really. I put a BIG chunk of money down and had to finance the rest.
I know I probably am not speaking for the whole group, But this is one of the joys of being a childless couple. One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is popping out too many babies too early. If you can get ahead of the curve early in life, things will have a better chance of going your way financially.
Never live check to check. Always put some money away every month. Once you dig a hole with credit cards or unexpected children (or both) it is VERY hard to get your head above water.
I am far from making a million a year. But I work damn hard for my money. I have been at the same job for nearly 15 years. Same career for 20.
Go to school, kiss a little ass when it is necessary, get a retirement plan, put some money away, live well. Just not beyond your means.

Difficult question to answer Charv.
For me, I always wanted a Lambo since I was a little kid. I was in no position to get one while in college, med school, or residency for obvious reasons. I do not come from money. Then I got married. Having a wife BTW, is way more expensive. Now I have two little kids who are the world to me. The family for me is so far ahead in importance as to render luxuries such as exotic cars as laughable.

I was in a position to make owning a 6.0 possible and I bought one. I did not plan on this or had any kind of long term strategy on saving for one. There was just a point in time when I thought I could swing it.

So my position is, worry about the things that are really important. Getting a good education, staying healthy and making a happy family. Everything else is a perk. Fancy things only get you short term happiness. Assess your goals carefully.

Synystr....

My story is quite like yours. I'm married, no kids (yet). It's a great way to get ahead in life. Anyway, you mentioned that you put a large chunk of money down on your lambo and financed the rest. May I ask what the cost of your lambo was, how much you put down and your monthly payment....

I really want to get a Gallardo. The Gallardo I would get would cost about $180K. What amount would I have to put down to get a $1600 to $1800 per month payment? This is the amount that I can justify with the wife!!!!

Thanks

Question

I am in somewhat of the same situation. I'm 16 as well. My father always shoots down my dream any time I talk about Lamborghini. He explains to me that he could not afford one if someone gave one to him. I do realize hes right to a certain extent. He been fairly sucessful but in his words, "no one who works for a living can afford one."
I was curious, how much does owning a Lamborghini truely cost. I know in MA, where I live, I would be paying close to $11k in sales tax for a $300k Murcielago. The excise tax they have here would be $3700 for the first year (I'm not entirely sure but I believe its in that area). I've seen some people on here quote prices for insurance before, but it seemed like it was mostly on Diablos. Do any of you know what insurance would be on a Murcielago for someone around say 40 with a good record? Also what are you going to be looking at for maintanance/ anually?

Thanks in advance for your help

"no one who works for a living can afford one."
With all due respect, He can kiss my ass!
Some of us start off a little slower than jumping in to a new car. I started off with corvettes and finally graduated into a 1991 diablo. I have the ability to do 98% of my own maintenance and repairs. And it was all I could afford. Maybe some day I will buy a new Lambo.
I'm sure your father is concerned with you priorities. See the previous links and take them to heart.
