Lambo needs someone who has the balls to create something technologically unique and beat the likes of the ENZO and Carrera GT apart from keeping things profitable. We need someone with the undying passion to create only the best. In short we need another Ferruccio Lamborghini.

I hope they will not sell Lambo, Audi was the best what happened to Lamborghini since the Mimrans sold the factory in 1987!

The problem is only that the mother company Volkswagen AG needs cash, therefore they try to sell some companies.
Lamborghini is suffering from the bad management of Volkswagen specially the Piech family which had to buy the nonsense called Bugatti and investing a lot more for a ridiculous car than they invested into Lamborghini!

Of course the Veyron is an exceptional car, but it will never bring back the cash invested.
I heard that this adventure costed about 1 billion dollars, that's twice the amount Audi invested in Lamborghini... but Lambo makes profit and sales are good and the demand is increasing even more with the G spyder.

1B for Bugatti?? sheesh. They should've spent that money to create a super Lambo. In fact it wouldn't have cost them 1B. I hope VW/AUDI keeps Lambo and invest resources to steer it back to the top of the supercar hierarchy. Honestly I do not know how they manage to market so many brands,

VW/AUDI stable,
1.VW
2.AUDI
3.SKODA
4.SEAT
5.BENTLEY
6.LAMBORGHINI
7.BUGATTI
8.PORSCHE(well.. actually PORSCHE now owns VW, which in turn owns everything else..)

..and they almost bought into PROTON(which owns Lotus).. yikes.. thank god that didn't happen.

The real problem is Volkswagen itself, too high costs and a boring product range. Skoda is butchering in the VW's garden since similar models but massive cheaper. Seat has sales problems too but is like the sporty department of VW, amazing beautiful cars.

Audi is just rock-solid, superior quality than VW.

Bentley is a cash cow, would be idiotic to sell the bringer of the period.

Bugatti is a big money loss, the project of Piech who also controls the Porsche company through the Porsche and Piech family.

In the end Audi/Bentley/Lamborghini/Bugatti and Porsche should be moved outside and indipendent from the VW AG as awn company, developping sport cars and super sport cars.
The bread and butter cars VW, Skoda and Seat remain in the VW AG, expensive cars like the pheaton have to be stopped immediately since it's not the clientele of VW.

This way there is a clear separation from normal to sport range, bugatti gets no more investments, first the company has to make profit.
Lamborghini shall remain with 2 clearly focused models.
Audi shall stop the A3 and A4 and focus on the A6 and A8.

Just my thoughts...

I never understood why VW wanted to move Audi downmarket (A3), while moving VW upmarket (Phaeton). Granted, Audi, as is the same with BMW and MB, are not the range toppers around the world that they are here. Remember, you can actually get Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes with cloth interiors just about anywhere but the US, and they are most often sold as fleet vehicles to taxi companies. . . with diesel engines! VW has been referred to by friends of mine as "Germany's Geo", and after my sister owned them, my dad worked on them, and my grandfather owned the first VW dealer in Omaha, I have rarely doubted that. It seems ironic that the most competent and well built car they have produced in decades is the one being killed (Phaeton). A few looked at it as a cut price A8, but even fewer could get past the badge enough to buy one. Piech was intent on building an empire that quickly got out of hand. Case in point, the transparent factory in Dresden - what was the point of that? Who really cares enough to see a VW built? Now a transparent Lambo factory, that I would see.
