Default Installed a two post car lift at home

I just installed a 2 post car lift in my garage at home. Was easy to do. Anybody that likes to work on their cars should consider it. I have described the details at:-

John - What is the spec for the thickness of the floor and how long is the bolt? Do you need to level each post to each other?

SI Lambo, the concrete is supposed to be 4" thick. The bolts they supply are 4" long. They supply "U" shaped shims to level the base plate. Good questions, I will update the entry.

Agree it was real scary raising the car up that high. Actually I cheated and used my old C5 Corvette first. To be honest I am still a little scared going under the car. Guess it will ware off! I will say this there is absolutely ne way those arms would snap off. They are solid steel and heavy. I can just barely lift one by hand.

My ceiling is 124" high. When I raise the lift full hight there are about 3" to 4" to spare. Scary I know, but needless to say if it is OK the first time it will be every time.

yeah most lifts are 12 ft heigh unless you have them custom cut down. if you dont have a lot of room then you can get an asymetrical lift which allows you to put 30% of the car in front of the posts and 70% behind them.
