I always remember something after I've submitted.....
Did you check for a US DOT label in the door jamb? If it's there, your importation is simple. If not, ask the dealer for proof that it's US-compliant, and maybe he can handle the legwork with the factory for you before you pull the trigger and buy it.
If you end up importing you car through an RLI, you'll have to post bond to the US government at 1.5 times the value of the car, and only the RLI will be allowed to make the necessary mods, so get ready for exorbitant cost.....
