Look in your phone book under "Customs Brokers" and ask them.

As a US Customs Broker, I always thought US law was more restrictive than Canadian...but I met someone at a car show with an F40 and he said his car was impounded in Canada because F40's are not permitted under any circumstance.

Recently, I spent several days researching bringing in a 96 Euro Diablo into the US and the cost was appx $85K to convert - but from US to Canada I think it would not be a problem.

Post your findings here after speaking with a Customs Broker.

When you bring a vehicle into Canada you will, in most cases have to pay duty and taxes. For information on federal taxes, contact the Canada Border Services Agency. Please note that the imported vehicles must meet all federal government requirements prior to registration. You may also be required to pay provincial Retail Sales Tax when the vehicle is registered in Ontario.

Hey!
All cars over 15 years old can be imported to Canada.

Look at the link above, it doesn't have Lamborghini on the list...what's that all about?

Kit cars are not allowed in Canada.

I love Canada for that alone.

Thanks Rhyno...interesting story...I was at a car show and was in a group of about 15 FCar owners. The guy with the F40 said while in Canada he was driving (visiting), got pulled over and they impounded his car due to being an F40. I thought it was BS, but because I only know US law did not make any comments to him.

JAP - Similar law in US... Over 20 years exempt from entry requirements and over 25 years exempt for Dot/Epa.

Let's say you import a 90 "anything"... you have to make it meet the specs that were in effect in 1990 for US cars, (not 2005 specs). In the car I was considering it was more than passing smog...different gas tank, fuel lines, brake hoses, convert to OBD2 from OBD1, etc etc..

We do have kit cars here in Canada, I know of 3 'kit' diablos alone in Vancouver.

Any car that is 15 years are older can be imported, but once again I was told that lamborghinis can not be imported to Canada unless they are 15 years old or older.
